ALISO VIEJO, Calif. – Denim Belville handed the College of Idaho women's soccer team their second straight loss, third on the season, as Soka rallied from a late 1-0 deficit to beat the Lady Yotes 2-1 in extra time.
C of I (3-3-1) put the first tally on the board in the 55th minute as Lauren Polito netted her first goal of the season and gave the Lady Yotes a 1-0 lead.
Soka (3-2-0) answered back in the 69th minute as Denim Belville scored her first of two goals on the afternoon, giving the Lions the equalizer.
Both teams would trade shots in the final 20 minutes of regular time before the two squads would head to extra time. In the 93rd minute, Belville scored the golden goal, her second goal on the afternoon.  
C of I trailed the Lions in shots, 17-14, and shots on goal, 9-4.
The Lady Yotes used a goalkeeper by committee approach again as Brittany Houghton played 45-minutes, with two saves and no goals allowed. Senior Aimee Pierson played the final 47-plus minutes, saving five shots and allowing two goals.
The C of I closes out their non-conference schedule with a record of 3-3-1 and will begin Cascade Conference play in 12 days when the Lady Yotes host Eastern Oregon at Simplot Stadium, September 26, at 4 p.m.
