Box Score CARSON, Calif. - Andrea Faerber launched a 30-yard strike in the 72nd minute to break a tie, helping Marymount California University end College of Idaho's four-match unbeaten streak with a 2-1 victory at the StubHub Complex.
Though statistically dominating the first half, the Mariners (3-3) could not take advantage of an 8-2 shot advantage, as the two teams played a clean sheet over the first 45 minutes.
MCU struck first in the 57th minute on a Monica Fisher unassisted goal.  The lead did not last long, as in the 62nd minute, Jamiece Yizar played a ball into the area to find Summer Jackson, who slotted the ball home for her second goal of the season, getting the Yotes (3-2-1) even.  C of I had a pair of good chances midway through the period to take the lead, but Mariners keeper Katelyn Sweeney turned away three shots - with Faerber's goal helping MCU get back to the .500 mark on the season.
MCU, a member of the California Pacific Conference, held a 15-6 edge in total shots in the physical game which featured a combined 26 fouls.
The Yotes return to action on Sunday morning, meeting Soka University of America in their final non-conference game.
