Corban Completes Season Sweep of Yotes

Box Score

SALEM, Ore. - A pair of first half goals were enough for Corban University, as the Warriors shutout The College of Idaho, 2-0, in Cascade Conference men's soccer action at Warrior Field.

The loss by the Yotes (4-12, 4-8 CCC) put their playoff hopes on the brink - needing wins against Northwest Christian tomorrow and over Warner Pacific next Saturday, along with Evergreen losses to Northwest and Northwest Christian, to advance to the postseason.

Corban held a commanding 22-5 edge in total shots, but did not break through until the 40th minute, when Arsinio Walker took touches from Derik Chaney and Kemar Prince and chipped a ball past C of I keeper Colin Benham-Marin for a 1-0 lead. Less than three minutes later, the Warriors (12-1-2, 9-1-2) added to the advantage, as Prince took a through-ball from Kyle Hammond and beat Benham-Marin.

Jordan Farr made two saves to record the shutout for the Warriors, while Benham-Marin recorded a season-high 13 saves for the Yotes in the loss.
