A pair of College of Idaho track and field athletes were named to the Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 team, released this afternoon.
Distance runner Greg Montgomery and multi-event standout Austin Basterrechea were among the 12 athletes honored in the College Division – encompassing schools from Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming.
Players were selected for their achievements on the diamond, along with being at least a sophomore academically and maintaining a 3.30 GPA or higher. All members of the District 7 team had a 3.51 or higher GPA.
The recipients will be eligible for the Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-America team, to be released later this month.
